Overview
Delivered one-on-one social media training for senior elected officials and parliamentary members across multiple engagements, improving performance across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube. This work led to consistent growth in reach, engagement, and followers, with participants either managing their own channels or confidently directing their teams.
The challenge
Senior elected officials were seeking to strengthen their presence on social media, both to better represent their communities and to create more direct, accessible channels for communication.
Some were managing their own accounts, while others relied on internal teams, but in both cases there was a need for clearer direction on what effective social media looked like, how to approach content and engagement, and what level of time and involvement was required to achieve meaningful results.
The approach
Each engagement was delivered as tailored, one-on-one training, designed around the individual’s goals, role, audience, and level of experience.
This included:
- Platform-specific guidance across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Content direction, tone, and posting approach
- Practical frameworks for managing engagement and audience interaction
- Guidance on time investment and sustainable workflows
- Strategic direction for future platform use
Each participant was also provided with a customised manual, outlining best practice, content direction, and a clear approach to managing and growing their social media presence.
The outcome
Across engagements, this work led to consistent improvements in reach, engagement, and audience growth.
In one instance, within four weeks:
- Reach increased by over 100%
- Engagement increased by 40%
- Followers increased by 18%
More broadly, participants gained the confidence to either manage their own channels independently or work more effectively with their teams, with a clearer understanding of what good performance looks like and how to achieve it.
